This selection of Lawrence's letters contains just one hundred of his letters, chosen to be varied, spanning his whole life (so his first known letter and his last) and discarding those that are just business or practical, arranging meetings and so on. Those that have been chosen, give an insight into the life and works of this remarkable man.
Earlier selections by Huxley and Moore were excised and names were omitted so as not to give offence. The letters in this volume are given in their entirety without censorship. Brief notes set the letters in their context.
