Charles Montgomery Skinner (Aug 4, 1844 - Jun 30, 1928) was an American writer who published myths and legends collection books. His dream was to make American folklore heritage more glorious. Skinner's writings were wide ranging.
Wallen's Ridge is a short story by Charles M. Skinner, included in "Myths and Legends of Our Own Land,Volume 06: Central States and Great Lakes". The story follows a white hunter, hunting in the indian lands a dozen miles from Chattanooga. One day he encountered a daughter of a Cherokee medicine-man. The hunter was struck by her beauty, manners and charm. But he was not aware of the consequences his affliction would have.
