William Morris was an English novelist, poet, translator and socialist activist. Morris began publishing poetry and short stories in the Oxford and Cambridge Magazine. He founded these magazines with his friends during the period when he was at university.

'The Well at the World's End' is a fantasy novel by William Morris, British writer and artist. The novel represents a bright example of fantasy with the typical features of the genre: medieval times, knights, castles, battles etc. Thew central figure of the story is Peter, king of Upmeads and his four sons: Blaise, Hugh, Gregory and Ralph, who go to seek their fortunes.
