Clarence Seward Darrow (Apr 18, 1857 – Mar 13, 1938) was an American attorney-in-law, mostly known for his defending role in the notorious Leopold and Loeb case and others. He was acknowledged as one of the most notable lawyers and defenders of civil liberties of America. He also was the author of a number of books and works on law, criminalistics, religion and adjacent subjects.
Why I am an Agnostic is an essay by Clarence Darrow. Here he speculates on agnosticism, a philosophical teaching based of idea of that the world is impossible to know completely, there are things that has always been and will always be beyond our scope of reality. And such world view is unmatchable with religious doctrines. This work is must read for everyone interested in critical apprehension of our far from perfect culture.
