Swords of the Sea

At one time, the kingdom of Frendilar was split into three separate kingdoms, which were constantly at war with each other. After many casualties and years of mistrust, the Mage War helped unite the kingdoms. Under the constant watch of the mages, the kingdom has enjoyed over a hundred years of peace and prosperity. The citizens of all three kingdoms now work together and trust in the protection the mages have provided for them. A few specially trained combat mages have emerged and are ready to protect those who trust them at the cost of their own lives. When the mages gain vision of an incoming fleet of ships, the cost to protect the kingdom becomes high indeed. The kingdom faces a new threat--one they did not know even existed. The council has to split its resources to seek out knowledge and allies to defend against the invasion from an unknown land across the sea. The elite mages will become the kingdoms' best chance of success and survival. If their decisions and choices are not absolutely perfect, they may learn the worst part of a hundred years of peace--its end.
