The Louisiana State Lottery Company Examined and Exposed

This booklet was one of the first ever published by Carradine. In it, he takes on the lottery system in his home state of Louisiana, comparing it to modern-day slavery. (Keep in mind that this was not some arbitrary comparison, as Carradine lived and served during the Civil War.)

True to form, he has no problem calling sin out for what it is. The lottery was being paraded as some noble and benevolent fund-raiser for the poor, when in practice it was precisely the opposite.
