This is a true non-fiction story of a woman detailing her passion to serve others. The experiences show the courage of people who give their lives in service, our firemen, policemen, the average citizens who step up to help.

As a child, Sharon helped out an elderly neighbor with her weekly chores. Twice a week she would help change the sheets on the neighbor's bed, dust and hang her wash out on the clothesline. But what she received in return was priceless. This woman gave her helper the importance of work ethics, and that age made no difference in friendships. Also, that when you put your heart into what you are doing, anything was possible. With that in mind the fifth grader became a Brownie and earned every merit badge available. She continued helping others all through her teens and during the summer she and her sister fed homeless people living near the train tracks not far from their home.

For more than twenty-five years volunteering with American Red Cross, DSHR as an Emergency Response Vehicle driver, when she was called to serve during the World Trade Center 9/11 terrorist attacks, Hurricanes Charley, Katrina, and Irene to mention a few, everything else was put on hold. The stories will bring tears to your eyes by the courage of the people who had lost everything and you will want to find out how you, too, can help.

The stories are amazing and inspirational, showing the love and devotion she shares, and how our call to serve encourages others. This journey in volunteering helped Sharon find her way during troubling times. She has found strength, forgiveness, and hope for the future. If you read this book, you might want to read Jeremiah 29:11 and rejoice in the victories for the future.
