A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens is a novel set in London and Paris before and during the French Revolution. The story depicts the plight of the French peasants and their suffering at the hands of the French aristocracy as the revolution approached. Like Paris, London saw a similar set of difficult conditions for the lower-economic class.
