Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875) was a Danish storyteller, the author of more than 400 fairy tales, poet, writer, playwright, essayist. Memory of Andersen is immortalized in sculptures: in Copenhagen the statue of the Little Mermaid was established in honor of Andersen. There is also the award of Hans Christian Andersen.
