"The Barmecide Feast" is a rewritten Arabian Tale, entered in the collection of Fifty Famous Stories, published in 1896. This story is about two men – one of them is a rich old man called the Barmecide, who lives in the beautiful palace and has everything that heart could wish. Other is a beggar whose name is Schacabac. His clothing is rags, and his food is the scraps. But he has a light heart, and he is happy as a king. Once Schacabac goes to Barmecide to ask the food, because he has not eaten anything for two days. The rich man invites him for the feast, but unexplainably starts to serves a beggar an imaginary banquet without real food and drink. What is the rich man doing and how will the story end? Read the tale to get the answers!
