Josephine “Josie” Hunter never thought in a million years that she would be on the dating scene again. She married young, had a baby and was set on living out her happily ever after but life had different plans for her. Her loving husband, Michael, pasted away and now her son is heading off to college in the fall. She was trying her hardest to fulfill her promise to her late husband by trying to move on with her life but she was doing this at a snail’s pace.

With her son, Darien, on a vacation down south for his summer break, Josie just stayed in the house. Her best friend Marcella Durham tries to give Josie a jolt in dating by taking her out on the town which ended in disaster and Josie longing to be home.

The day of Darien’s return changed Josie’s life forever with his news that he was now married. Josie was devastated and to add salt to her open wound Darien told her his new wife and her father were coming over for dinner. Josie gets dinner ready for her brand new in laws with the help of understandably nervous Marcella. Finally the time has come to meet Darien’s wife, Jordan. Josie was nearly at ease until Jordan and her father entered the house. Jordan’s father was none other than Kelly Alpin, the only other man Josie loved.
