What is on your infant's mind those first 12 months of his or her life? Enjoy this amusing, tantalizing, informative book, based on personal experience, a bit of research, and a whole lot of assumption. Thinking like a baby may seem to be easy; try it sometime.
When he or she gives you a strange look or something that resembles a frown, that couldn't be a protest, could it? Yes, it most certainly could. According to my year-old daughter, babies have your number, mom and dad, long before you get theirs. They can dial up feelings of fear, and guilt just as easily as love and comfort simply by using body language and a slight smile or frown. They are determined, intelligent and a bit crafty, but they are sooooo cute.
Books and movies such as "Look Who's Talking" provide not only inside thinking and speaking, but also an exchange with other children, but this book is exclusively from the point of view of the featured baby. That's what makes this book so much fun. Obviously, the conversation is rather mature for a one-year-old, and this reflects the attitude of the author, which is also fun.
Oh, by the way, you may think I am the mother, but, surprise, I am the father. And yes, I do change diapers, and let Mom relax...let's face it, she's the one who had the baby, but I am the one doing the writing...of course, our daughter prefers to address Mom rather than me, but my time will come.
