Calvin Baltrip is the first black homicide inspector in the city of San Francisco. He and his partner Carl Dixon are assigned the misguided brutal serial killer case of Darryl Aloroto. Darryl, on the other hand, is a sociopathic murderer who is known for his poetic verses left at every depraved murder. While Calvin and his team dig deeper in this case, he finds himself in a web of frustration and desperation, trying with little success to decipher the cryptic notes left by this soulless murderer. With no regard for gender, ethnicity, or sexual preference, Darryl chooses his victims with what appears to be random defiance.
