The Fitz-Boodle Papers is a satiric novel by William Makepeace Thackeray published in 1842, which was one of his first series of satirical sketches and novels now usually known as The Yellowplush Papers. The storyline of the novel focuses on a considered the third-best whist player in Europe. But after the arrival of the French gentleman, Monsier Lalluette, the Fortune of Fitz radically changes against him and he day by day he suffers defeat from Laluette. Unfortuantly our character is a poor man; moreover, he is forced to give cob in exchange for four ponies to Lalluette. At the end he is asking for a help.
