It is 1952 and the small town of Cooper's Bend is a buzz with the news that a Frenchman had bought the small island called Hawk Island. The newcomer quickly endears himself to the locals. Sadly there are rumors of gold buried on the island. Amy Jo and Russ sneak onto the island. Russ is caught and arrested. Amy Jo just vanishes.
College Librarian Dixie Taylor is sure that the Frenchman is behind her friends disappearance and plans to prove it. Sadly for the beautiful redhead, the Frenchman has plans for her.
