Obviously, I don't know you or whether you will join the conversation, I hope you will. What I promise you if you do, is respect, civility, and the belief that even if I'm unable to move you from your undecided position, having the opportunity to sit down with you will have been worth every minute.
For almost 40 years my life has been spent working with and trying to understand people as a pastor and as an Army/Army Reserve Chaplain. I have seen that we often share a common journey in search of understanding and meaning. We all live wanting to scale mountains hoping we can overcome the obstacles we know are coming. People can display amazing qualities and tremendous character. We are also capable of making wrong turns and poor choices, leaving us to sort out the consequences.
I know God exists because I see Him in the qualities and capacities found in every human being. I see Him in everyday things if you know where to look. The photographs are mine and have been carefully placed for you to interpret; I see God in them all.
Today, you aren't sure whether God exists or where to turn in your search for Him. But who knows what tomorrow will bring if today begins with a simple cup of coffee and an engaging conversation.
