“Double Falsehood or The Distressed Lovers” is the fascinating play by William Shakespeare, history's most heralded literary canon. New research indicates that this tragicomedy, originally thought to be written by Lewis Theobald in 1728, was actually written more than a century earlier by William Shakespeare with assistance from his friend John Fletcher.
 
The play is based on the story of Cardenio found in Don Quixote, the classic 17th-century novel by Miguel de Cervantes. The story revolves around the romantic entanglements of two brothers: one virtuous and one sinful.
