Selma Lagerlof (1858-1940) is a famous Swedish writer. She is the first woman who got a Nobel Prize in literature in 1909. She grow up in one of the most picturesque areas in Sweden - Värmland. That fact had a great influence on her writings. Lagerlof is well-known for her "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils" story.

This tale was first published in 1906. It tells us about a wonderful travelling of a boy named Nils, who was turned into a dwarf, and on the back of a goose flied from Sweden to Lapland and back.
