Breathe For Me

Four friends plan their last summer together, desperate to hide their own secrets and pain from one another. Sammie, finally setting aside her single minded focus of school and work for one last hurrah before college, another check on her list towards never becoming anything like her mother. Broke, emotionally unattached, an addict. Jackie hopes to keep her pregnancy a secret until she can muster enough courage to tell her family, and her combative boyfriend, who she is sure God has put in her life as a blessing. Can this baby help put her and Joey back in sync? Even for all of her years training and sacrifice to be the perfect ballet dancer, Charlie tries to forget that her control on the stage can’t control her darkest secret, one that would tear her family apart. And Frankie, weary of the burden of perfection her mother insists on, abuse and fear dragging her under until she feels she has lost the last part of herself.
But at the end of a seemingly wonderful summer, each of them finds themselves pushed emotionally to their limit, traumatizing events ripping their lives apart. One commits suicide, leaving the others dazed that they didn’t notice the pain, the desperation. The hard fact that each of them was contemplating the very same devastating action. Can the friendship of the three be repaired, or will each spiral further, only to be the next one lost?
