The Academy

Tate Collins finds himself in a military school during the Viet Nam years. As a senior, the tradition is to keep an on-going journal in his English class. In addition to the Thoreau-like tradition of examining his life, Tate is confronted with a vengeful headmaster, a mystifying romance, and the sad discovery that a long-held belief about a fellow student turns out to be true.
