State of Nature

Mara is 22 when she is initiated into a world where life is nasty, brutish, and short. The Soviet Union is no more. A new era is at hand. Old alliances are melting with the ice of the Cold War, and a list of deep cover agents has made its way from an old KGB file cabinet to a warehouse in San Antonio, Texas. The daughter and granddaughter of legendary covert operatives, Mara joins her family in a search for the information in that file cabinet. Along the way, she finds herself joining the family business and discovers that nothing is fair in love or war.
