She sat at the edge of her bed and just stared at the wall. Her eyes were glazed over and where there once was warmth and human compassion there was now nothing more than dark emptiness. She looked down at her arms and legs and took inventory of the wounds that had recently been inflicted on her. Some of the injuries were received as recent as that very morning.
