Deep in the Amazonian rain forest, Doctor Wilton Lomax leads an expedition looking for a legendary tribe. His search ends with the slaughter of nearly all his men by unseen predators.

Back in Washington D.C., Doctor Nicholas Reeves and his partner, Doctor Albert Crichton, are working for the National Health and Science Corporation. After experimenting with a plant sample sent to their lab by Dr. Lomax, they believe they’ve found a cure for the viruses that cause worldwide pandemics. But they need more of the plant. And to get more, they’ll have to explore the darkest heart of the Amazon, where legends live.
