Alec Gordon always wanted to be a pianist and, having given up on both his marriage and job, has become one. However, circumstances have led to him working for both for the British Council, as a travelling musician as well as British Intelligence. In the second book in the series, he wakes up with a month of his life missing, with several unsavoury or at the very least, unpleasantly smelly people shadowing him. On the plus side a beautiful though slightly mad violinist is also after him.
