There was a time when the entire livelihood of Almsmorton Village depended on Almsmorton Manor and the family that lived there. Nearly everyone in the village worked in the fields, in the gardens, in the stables or on the household staff. Over the years, the jobs declined as the farm lands were leased to others; horses were sold off; and most of the house was closed down. The current Lord and Lady Almsmorton had finally packed their bags and moved to a townhouse in London.
Timothy Treymour, their only son, had acted a little in college and it came easily to him. He soon learned that there was a good deal of money to be made in movies. He pushed himself to become a successful actor not because he loved acting, but in order to earn enough money to restore Almsmorton Manor.
On a movie set in LA, he met author Meredith Abbott. Once he looked into her violet/blue eyes, he was a goner. But Meredith didn’t date actors and bluntly told him so. When she divorced her now ex-husband, Antonio DeLeon, who was once considered the most famous actor in the world; it practically destroyed her. That’s when she vowed to never date another actor because they “lie for a living.”
Timothy’s persistence and quiet strength finally convinced Meredith. It took a giant leap of faith for the Iowa farm girl to pack her bags and move to England. But once she and Timothy started working side by side to restore Almsmorton Manor, their love and commitment grew stronger each day.
Back across the pond, Antonio DeLeon was not happy. His career was declining, his marriage was a farce, and knowing that Meredith was with Timothy in England was literally eating away at him.
Did Meredith really think he’d ever let her be happy without him?
