When Virtual Reality runs at a clockspeed many times faster than the real world, one can spend an order of magnitude longer online than one is actually alive. Steven is one of billions living day to day life in VR, punching time at a job advising AIs on the market appeal of cloud-cluster VR widget toys, while exploring another life as Stephanie Jones. As expensive as living in VR is, it's still cheaper than nanotransforms in the real world, and he's not ready to pull the trigger on sexual reassignment anyway.

Until one day, he answers an ad:

“Transgendered MtF applicants required for service work in a private Male Dominion themed Domain.  Successful applicants will serve in female avatars. Our contractual obligations, while strict, comply fully with consensual non-consent legislation in the United States and the EU.  Appear for your interview in female form, dressed appropriately for the office.”

The life Steven led prior quickly recedes as Stephanie is forced to live full time as a female, subservient to the men behind the organization...and one particular man assumes control over her.
