The Waiting Place

“Virgin Australia regrets to announce the cancellation of this evening’s flight to Perth. Would passengers seated in rows fifteen to thirty please approach the information desk to be advised of alternative accommodation and onward travel arrangements.”
...A wayward bolt of lightning, a plane with no pilot, a missed connection, ...all these events culminate in an unanticipated wait in an airport lounge.
...But good things can come to those who wait...
This is a short story about a serendipitous series of mishaps that lead to a happy beginning.
