Charles Dickens of the Westcountry

This book spotlights Charles Dickens connections with Devon and Cornwall without which a very different life story would have emerged. At 23 he settled his parents in Alphington in Exeter as a way of avoiding the debtors but it was not long before his father was up to his old tricks again. His father believed he was the 'great unpaid' and had co-written the novels with his son.
