Hellfires Shake the Blues

Peter Jacob Streitz is a self-proclaimed iconoclast with the street-wit for both the paradoxical and commonplace. And with America’s highly descriptive language being scrubbed and sanitized to the point that “whatever” is the definitive answer to every question; he subsumes from Franz Kafka the paraphrased belief that “. . . poetry ought to be an ice pick to crack the frozen sea within our psyche.” Thus his words first freeze one’s social sense with a blast of cold reality before conjoining hands in a communal effort to swim ashore of islands uncharted and unexplored; thereby, opening new worlds of perspective and understanding.
