Unnecessary Evils

Captain Tom Curran and Constantine Caraballo are unlikely friends. Curran, a single man, raised in a Philadelphia Catholic orphanage is at home anywhere in the world. Caraballo is part of a huge Italian family, and would rather be home with his beloved wife and son than any of the exotic locales he’s forced to visit on military business. But, the two men have been best friends since childhood, and continue to watch each other’s backs as they progress through their respective military careers.

When a mission to find a dangerous energy weapon goes awry, the men think they’ve seen the worst. However, when they arrive at home to find there’s been an untimely death—a suspicious death—and a missing friend, they find themselves digging deeper into the nature of the military, the reliability of their superiors, and the depth of their own friendship. Will things ever return to “normal” between the men? Will they uncover secrets that could change their lives and work forever? Will they find the weapon and who wants them dead?
