The Loss of Liberty is a humorous short story about a resourceful old soldier who builds himself a canoe. He and his grandson take it for its maiden voyage with disastrous consequences. The Loss of Liberty is the first book in a trilogy of adventures featuring Arnold Clegghorne and his grandson Michael.
