Los Angeles crime blogger Danny Kasho receives a tip urging him to get to Malibu where a major wildfire has erupted. Danny’s blog RED FLAG is the preeminent source for news on a series of fires set by an arsonist that have laid siege to Southern California’s drought-stricken forests—and now killed five people outright in the mountains above Malibu.

Danny discovers that the task force created to catch the suspect has fractured. The two lead investigators each secretly believes the other is the so-called Angeles Arsonist. Danny quickly finds himself caught in the middle of his own story—between uncertain loyalties, unceasing competition, and a killer with a homemade flamethrower determined to crown the bone-dry mountains around LA with flames.
