When successful local artist Nick Ballard surprisingly shows up at the Minerva/Ballard family gathering, Kate suspects that his grandmother has a hand in it. But Kate is in no hurry to see him again. After leaving ten years ago, he'd abruptly, and without any doubt, let Kate know he wasn’t interested in her. Her sixteen year old heart was irrevocably broken - and no matter what he says or does now, she isn't about to let him trample her heart again.
