Æthelwine

Set in eighteenth-century England, Æthelwine relates the tale of Farren Lockwood, a headstrong young woman living in poverty with her widowed mother, who is intent on marrying her off to a rich husband. But Farren has never had any interest in men, until she meets the beguiling Charles Moreau, who has just returned to the secluded town of Ackerley after his father's mysterious death. But Charles harbors many dark secrets, one of which being that he isn't a man at all.
