Agony Aunties: Desi Style: a Desi Drive short

‘Agony Aunties – Desi Style’ is also published in “Desi Drive” as part of a compilation of short stories that are standalones, yet loosely interlinked; much like the lives of friends and neighbors. ‘Aunty Mela’ and ‘Aunty Bela’ are nom de plumes used by two of the women who live on Desi Drive. What they share is their genuine interest in the well-being of their fellow desis, but they have very different views and expressions of this interest, as seen by their responses to “desi problems”. No one on Desi Drive knows for sure the identities of Aunty Bela and Mela, but they have a good idea. All the characters are completely fictitious, but what they have in common with the real desis, is pragmatism and humanity, traits necessary to survive and thrive in foreign lands.
