Beverly Morgan planed for four winter months alone in a tent she designed, set up in a remote valley in Alaska, where she could complete a study that her mother had wanted to do before she and Bev's brother died. Two pilots fly her and her equipment into the valley. The study, weather, an avalanche, an injured animal, a moose, wolves, a wolverine, the Northern Lights, radio conversations with the two pilots, the loss of important items and many more things add to - or detract from - her time in the valley.
