Rise of Man Book 2: Liberty

Mankind had been enslaved by the Kthpok for centuries. Men and women had labored to provide whatever their Overlords desired. Even their babies fulfilled a function: They were delicacies for Kthpok banquets. On several occasions men had rebelled only to be put down with overwhelming force. Most of humanity had become resigned to their role as a workforce and food supply. But a few weren’t satisfied with being slaves and set out to gain their freedom. They worked on setting up a network of slaves waiting for the perfect moment to act. Then the opportunity for liberty came: An asteroid was on a collision course with their planet.
