Escaping a deranged stalker and mending a battered heart, internationally acclaimed actress Francesca Jones returns to Ireland from New York to remind herself what being part of a family means. The Fitzgeralds offer her sanctuary encouraging her to once again find her place amongst them. However, as she starts to realise how much relationships can change, old terrors follow and threaten her friendships, her love, her family and her life.
Devlin Fitzgerald only wants to keep Frankie safe. He has never felt like the brother she considers him to be and is determined to conceal his passion rather than loose her friendship. But, someone is trying to eradicate her from their life - with connections in New York, Dublin and Connemara, someone hates Frankie enough to remove her from the only family she has ever really known. Dev will do anything to stop that happening, even if it means he must step away from the promise of his own happiness. And Francesca must answer some very difficult questions and learn the true meaning of Family….before it’s too late.
As Frankie’s life takes a new direction she comes to terms with issues from her past, looks at friendships in a new light, faces danger and the truth of familial bonds. Can she let love into her life and embrace a passion she never felt could be hers? Can she trust Dev to see her, not just the persona that appears in the media? Families can be more than kinship, more than mere flesh and blood - they can also hurt, haunt and inflict immeasurable pain. Sometimes things are not as they seem and sometimes they are so much more.
Trust is ultimately betrayed and Frankie is caught up in a web of lies and deceit - Dev must race to find her, protect her and save her, regardless of the threat to his own life. But Frankie is fighting demons from the past and dealing with a deranged person intent of inflicting as much pain and anguish as possible, something Frankie can’t allow happen to the Fitzgeralds, the only people to care for her unconditionally.
