When Ian and Amanda make a trip home to Oregon to see their parents, what was supposed to be an ordinary visit quickly becomes complicated. Ian's parents are pressing her for information she doesn't want to share, and old friends are looking Ian up and asking questions she can't answer. As if that weren't enough, the resident vampire of Eugene has made it clear he does not appreciate their presence in his city and wants Ian and Amanda gone.
