And yet, through it all we learned to persevere. Rather than focus on distance, the long road to school, we walked in groups instead; we talked and laughed about many things that allowed us to succumb to what was. And what was? The daunting realities of living in the village were all too real; the unimaginable truths were one too challenging for children our age.
