RUNNER is the second book of a science fiction trilogy called: CHILDREN OF THE SUN, but can be read independently of the first novel. It's based on an original screenplay of the same name; which won top honors from The Screen Arts Foundation in 2002. It's the story of a young black Ops operative suffering from PTSD and depression over the death of his beloved wife, who is recruited for a clandestine mission he knows will not be survivable. But he gets more than he bargained for when he's given the job of sign language interpreter to an alien life form on an American warship engaged in a genetic war behind the sun. RUNNER is powerful mix of vividly descriptive surrealistic fantasy and the brutal reality of combat. A fast-paced and dialogue driven space-opera with lots of action, a well-hidden mystery and a surprise ending.
