Diabetes is the inability of the body to use glucose for energy, due to loss of sensitivity to the hormone insulin. Almost 415 million people in the world have diabetes. By 2014 this will rise to 2,152 million. There were 10 million cases of diabetes in Indonesia in 2015, resulting in 184,985 deaths. Diabetes Mellitus is one of the most common long-term diseases occurring in the UK, affecting 3 in 100 people. In the USA in 2012 104.8 million have either prediabetes or type 2, that’s one in 10 people.
