Jacob Thomas is your average, broke college student. One rainy night, he meets Elena, a girl with quite a bit of baggage.

She's running from an abusive relationship, and with nowhere else to go, Jacob agrees to help her out. But Jacob has his own issues, and a new mouth to feed sparks a rough patch for Jacob and his roommate. Having already been dealing with financial struggles, Jacob now has to avoid eviction and somehow get through his classes while balancing Elena.

Jacob falls out of security and quickly falls for Elena. He fights to keep his life together, but in the end, will she fall for him or leave him with nothing to show for his struggles?
