Looking Up at the Great Depression: Funny Things Happen on the Way to Decorum

The author, George L. Andersen, was fortunate enough to be born into the "Great Depression" to a family starting from scratch in "Fish-town"-a poor area of Philadelphia, PA. Today such a start is considered a major handicap; but then, the values and beliefs of all the adults there, were those that made possible the "Greatest Generation."
