New Year's Eve 2015

This was a story that grew out of a conversation I had with a friend. I pulled a couple snippets and built this short story. The issue: Should good friends become something more?

I have no answer, but maybe you do. As always, let me know what you think. Any personal experiences that you wish to share would be welcome. Just beware, they may become the basis of another story. Names will be changed to protect the innocent, or not so innocent.
