New Horizons

Valerie Campbell is a high school dropout without a life plan when she is taken from her home and dropped off at New Horizons, a wilderness program for troubled youth. After a strip search and a brief stint in solitary confinement, Val is placed in cabin 519 with five other delinquents from across the country. In denial about her belonging at the facility, Val clashes with several of the residents of the program, and makes a quick enemy with her cabin mate, Karen.

Val's mouth and attitude gets her an overnight stay in the ward, where she witnesses an escape attempt from fellow nutcase "Jenny Shoulders". The director of New Horizons denies the rumours of an escape, but Val knows the truth and has to decide what to do with it.

Raw, tragic, and uplifting, "New Horizons" follows Val's journey of self-acceptance in a program meant to break her.
