Soil Investigation and Foundation Design

Site investigation is considered the first essential operation to be performed in the analysis, design, and choice of a foundation. Such investigation provide the necessary information about geological, physical, and geotechnical properties of soil which is prerequisites to a save and economical construction of all civil engineering works.
Insufficient or in adequate information which respect to the character and bearing capacity of the underlying soil beneath and engineering structure may result in serious damage or collapse of the structure.
