To Catch the Tears of Darkness

Chloe doesn't understand why Mommy and Daddy are acting funny around Uncle Ernie. She thought her uncle was lots of fun. But when he kidnaps her, she realizes her uncle isn't any fun at all. In the blackness of his car trunk, Chloe has a vision of a terrible monster with ripping, slashing teeth and spattering blood. Chloe doesn't like to think about the vision or the monster--she now has to deal with a different kind of monster on a daily basis. Her life has become a nightmare of traveling from unknown destination to unknown destination, never seeing where she is going, but knowing that she will never, ever see Mommy and Daddy again. Darkly wise beyond her years, Chloe remains a child at heart, never truly breaking. When she makes friends with another abused soul, her life changes again, and she sees the vision for what it really means.
