Dennis, a graduate student, meets and falls in love with Jennifer, a senior. They are together and he is wondering about a proposal when he overhears her telling her friends that she fucked some other guy when they were "exlusive". He bolts to Chicago and she returns to southern Illinois. She finds out she's pregnant and has the baby on her own. When the young girl is five and is found to have an affliction that requires bone marrow, Jennifer must confront and get Dennis' help. Will he? What will he think about this situation?
