The Mating Season of the Naga

Nina is the new fortune teller in a small, travelling circus. As she gets to know the troupe better, she finds that they have someone truly stunning in their group. The girl finds herself intrigued by a half-man, half-serpent, and she can’t seem to keep her hands off of him. Will she come under the charm of the naga?

“My people are more direct than humans.” The naga murmured, at her shocked silence, her sheepishness. “I can come across as tactless, I suppose.” Now he seemed to be a little embarrassed, but he didn’t let go of her or exactly apologize. “But I do not mind the company…”

“Oh.” Nina spoke in a small voice, almost a squeak, as she realized exactly what he meant by all that. Her cheeks only burned hotter. Her heart thumped loudly in her chest as she remained pressed to him, her dark eyes wide on his face.

Then she leaned up on the tips of her toes and kissed him, carefully at first. It was a low, ginger thing, and fragile as she tested the reception, the soft press of her lips to hers, the taste of his skin. Nina found a hint of honey and cinnamon, and she closed her eyes as he simply let her explore his mouth.

The kiss lingered, and Nina moved her hands up to balance her weight against the demi-human' s broad chest, savoring the feeling of shifting muscle beneath her palms. She felt the hand on her hip slide to the small of her back, encouraging her to be close, to press her weight against his body. Her heart pounded in anticipation, a feeling that left her feeling a little silly, a little girlish. Why someone she just met made her feel that way, Nina didn't know, but she had to admit the naga had a powerful sort of charm to him, sensuality she didn't find very often.
